  • If you have read our article about Mastering the ISO setting, you have understood that specially photos on low light conditions can have a good amount of noise (grainy look).

Fortunately there are some software that allows you to overcome that. One of those is Neat Image. There are other programs out there (being this one of the best) so this will only serve as a demo of what can be done.

This program has a free demo (unlimited use and time) and also a paid version (home and pro license).

Using the Demo version of the program is quite easy and you are done in only 4 steps:

    1. Load the image

    2. Set the profile (usually the auto-profile works just fine)

    3. Preview the final result and make some adjustments

    4. Save the output

Done! By the images is visible that the final result is quite impressive.

  • NeatImage is a great app for reducing noise, but I'm recommending anyone to use Noiseware Professional Edition. If budget is a concern, there's a Community Edition which you can use for free .
