With the introduction of the new iOS 8, that has became available to update recently, a whole new set of features were added, including some on the camera UI.
The new camera app of the iOS 8 has now two major new features, the ability to do Time Lapses (check the second video on this topic) and, finally, a timer so you can delay the time between the moment you press the shutter button and the time that the photo is taken, perfect for group photos where you can actually appear.
Besides these two new major features, a whole new set of editing tools were added to the camera app, where crop and alignment was significantly improved, better and advanced settings for editing the light which includes not only the brightness but also the contrast, the highlights, shadows and others settings (all in an independent way), as well new options like hiding photos, recovering deleted photos, etc.
You can check all these features demoed on the next video.
The new TimeLapse option really makes some nice videos. Check out this example.
