Our first Interview is with one of our oldest members. With 82 photos posted, Pureview1000 is on our Top 10 posters in the gallery and the Top 3 in comments with an impressive total of 540. Huge fan of mobile photography, featured at Nokia Conversations and well-know by the community of mobile photographers, here is his interview where we will get to know him a bit better.1. Tell us a bit about yourself.
I used to use my nickname PureView1000 or just PureView to keep a little bit of privacy in the Internet world. But what I can tell you is, I'm 39, born in Ethiopia, living almost my whole live in Germany, I'm working in an office.
Well my hobbies are Work Out. Huge interest in technology, shooting pictures with my Lumia 920, Nokia 808,... I read a lot, Love great movies, and sometime playing games on my PS3 and PS42. What was your journey to mobile photography?
Well, it took me sometime to get here to be honest. I had the Nokia 95 8GB and I was impressed by the image quality... but I really started shooting, after buying the Lumia 920. I had the Lumia 800 before that, but didn't take it serious. After i saw the Nokia World presenting the 920 I was stunned by the lowlight capabilities and needed to buy one. A couple of months later, I bought the Nokia 808, which i really love for its unbelievable picture quality. The first pictures I took, were never ever impressive... I took a huge amount of pictures to get where i am now. I started loving shooting pictures the better I got. Now I can't imagine living without shooting.3. What phone(s) do you use to take your photographs?
Most of the time, I use the Lumia 920 but I also use the Nokia 808. Both phones have some "magic" in it. The Lumia 920 was the first with OIS and great lowlight capabilities. Now as the 1020/1520/Icon are on the market, they are way better as my Lumia 920 of course. The Nokia 808 is an absolutely amazing camera phone. Forget about the OS... it's all about the Sensor... 41MP huge Sensor and the image quality is out of this world. Plus the Sound Recording capabilities is a huge improvement of smartphone technology.4. What is your favorite kind of photography? What you consider to be your specialties?
I like a lot of styles. Macro, streetphotography, any kind of objects... I even like taking cinemagraphs or night shots. . I just wanna freeze the moment... to capture what I see at that moment. Editing is also a part of my shooting. I like editing the picture to get it more the point where I see it in my mind.5. Do you use any mobile photography accessories?
When I shoot macros, I use a lens on my phone to get it really close and see more details. I think it is important for people who wanna try macros to use lenses. By the way, you can find really cheap one and practice with it.6. Do you take advantage of the many photography apps that are available for smartphones? If so, tell us your favorite ones.
I really like Fotor. It's clean and really simple to use. It has everything i need from sharpening, to blur, contrast, brightness, resize pictures and really great filters. Sometimes i use Fhotoroom too... that's one of the best, huge amount settings.7. What are your ambitions as a mobile photographer?
Well selling pictures one day, would be a dream.... seeing them on a cover of a magazine or something like that would be awesome.8. What would be your dream camera phone?
Get me a Lumia 930 with the Nokia 808 41Mp sensor. A really fast processor for shooting faster high res pictures, Micro SD and Xenon Flash. By the way... I love the sound capabilities of the latest Lumias...9. Select what you consider to be the best 3 photos that you have shared at The Mobile Photography Blog.
